This article shows you how to create a WeChat submenu.
A WeChat menu can have up to 3 main menu tabs. Each main menu tab can have up to 5 submenu items. In total, you could have 15 submenu items. A complex menu structure like that requires a significant amount of content and management. Most of our clients have an average of 3 items per submenu.

On the top menu, click PUBLISH > WeChat Content > Settings > Menu.
2 Creating a submenu item
- Hover the mouse pointer on a main menu tab. The menu line turns green and a toolbar displays.
- Click the plus (+) sign to add a submenu item. The Add Menu Item panel displays.
- Enter an English name (up to eight characters).
- Click the translator icon to insert a language based on locale.
- Do not click Done.
- Go to Step 3.
3 Adding content to a submenu item
Next, add content to the submenu item. There are two options: link or message.
Link Option
You can place a link inside a submenu item. The link sends followers to a webpage or WeChat article. To attach a link to a submenu item:
- Click Link.
- Enter the URL with the full http:// or https:// prefix.
- Click Done.
- Click Save at the top of the page.
Message Option
To place digital assets inside a submenu item:
- Select the Message tab.
- Select Text, Image, or Rich Post, and then insert the assets.
- Click Done to save.
- Click Save at the top of the Menu page.

Hover the mouse pointer on the mock smartphone's main menu tab to see the submenu.
