Adding Text Messages to WeChat Menu Items

This article shows you how to place a text message inside a menu auto-response message. When a menu tab or submenu item is clicked, a text message is displayed to your WeChat followers.

You can place a text message inside a main menu tab if it does not contain a submenu. If you created a submenu, you can place a text message inside a submenu item, but not the main menu.

1  Opening the WeChat Menu page

Go to the top menu and select PUBLISH > WeChat Content > Settings > Menu.

2  Adding a text message to a submenu item

Hover the mouse pointer on a submenu item. The background turns light green and the toolbar displays.

1. Click the pencil icon. The Edit Menu Item panel opens.
2. Click the Message tab and then click the Text tab.
3. Type your text message in the message box. The maximum message size is 600 characters.
4. Click Done.

3  Adding a text message to a main menu tab

You can add a text message to a main menu tab if it does not have a submenu. Adding a text message to a main menu tab follows the process described above.

Hover the mouse pointer on a main menu tab. The background turns green and the toolbar displays.

1. Click the pencil icon. The Edit Menu Item panel opens.
2. Click the Message tab and then click the Text tab.
3. Type your text message in the message box. The maximum message size is 600 characters.
4. Click Done.
