Locating WeChat Analytics

This article shows you how to find data related to your posted articles and WeChat followers.

WeChat data can help you understand where your followers come from as well as gender and language. With those insights, you can publish content that interests segments of your followers.

There are two sets of data:

• posted article performance (e.g. reads, views)
• follower stats (e.g. gender, location)

1  Analysing article performance

The WeChat Insights page provides data about follower engagement with your WeChat articles.

To access insight data:

1. On the Dashboard page, click WECHAT in the top-level menu. The WeChat Content page displays.
2. On the left side menu, click ANALYTICS. The folder opens.
3. Inside the ANALYTICS folder, click Content. The WeChat Insights page displays.
4. In the top right corner, select use the Date Picker to select a time frame for data display.
5. Click the All Channels menu and select the channel data you wish to review. 

Three sets of data are presented:

Trend

A line graph shows the number of readers and views over time.

Distribution

Pie charts show the total number of readers and content views based on different distribution channels.  

Messages

Below the charts, there is a list of posted articles over the time frame selected in the top right corner of the page. For each post, you can see the total number of readers, views, and shares.

2  Analysing follower stats

The WeChat Followers Insight page provides background data about your followers.

To access follower data:

1. On the Dashboard page, click WECHAT in the top-level menu. The WeChat Content page displays.
2. On the left side menu, click ANALYTICS. The folder opens.
3. Inside the ANALYTICS folder, click Followers. The WeChat Follower Insights page displays.
4. In the top right corner, select use the Date Picker to select a time frame for data display.

Five sets of data are presented:

General

Shows overall followers gained and lost for the time period.

Acquisition

Shows the number of followers gained by acquisition method (e.g. QR code, search, rich post).

Demographics

Pie charts show the number of followers by gender and language group (English or Chinese Simplified).

Geography

Maps show the location of your followers. There is a world map and a map for China.

Followers acquired by custom QR codes

Below the charts, there is a list of followers who were acquired by custom QR code. For additional insights, sort the list by QR code name.
