This article shows you how to find the Followers page and use the data management tools.
You also learn how to create groups of followers. Groups are a powerful communication tool that let you send high-interest rich posts to a targeted set of followers.

1 Locating the Followers page
- On the Dashboard page, click WECHAT in the top-level menu. The WeChat Content page displays.
- On the left side menu, click FOLLOWERS. The folder opens.
- Inside the FOLLOWERS folder, click Management. The Followers page displays.
2 Previewing follower information
When someone follows your WeChat account, they provide 3 types of information. This information is presented in a table format.
You can sort this information based on several variables, including:
- nickname
- group
- follower since
- gender
- location
You can also filter the list of followers based on group assignment, gender, and country name.
WeChat no longer provides gender and location information of the followers who have started to follow an official account after 20th October 2021 due to introduction of new Personal Information Protection law in China.
3 Reviewing groups
The Followers page has 2 default groups: favourites and blocked.
To find the list of default and custom groups:
- Go to the Followers page.
- Scroll up to the top of the page.
- Click the tab All Followers Group. A dropdown menu displays.
- Select a group from the list. The list of followers changes to display the members of that group.
- To display the complete list of followers, click All Follower Groups.
4 Creating new groups
You can create up to 40 custom groups.
- Go to the Followers page.
- Scroll up to the top of the page.
- Click the green button Manage Follow Groups. The Manage Follower Groups panel displays.
- In the Manage Follower Groups panel, enter a group name.
- Click Add and then click Done. The new group is added to the All Follower Groups list.
5 Adding a follower to a group
You can place each follower in one or more groups. Each follower can be placed in a maximum of 10 groups.
- Go to the Followers page. The list of followers displays.
- Check the box beside the name of a follower you want to place in a group. The follower's profile turns green.
- Scroll up to the top of the screen and then click the Apply Follower Group arrow. A list of default and custom groups displays.
- Select the group you want. The group name now appears on the follower's profile under the Group heading.
6 Removing a follower from a group
You can remove a follower from a group.
- Go to the Followers page.
- Locate the follower profile you want to change.
- Locate the group name under the Group heading.
- Click the X beside the group name.
- Select YES in the confirmation prompt. The follower is removed from the group.
7 Blocking a follower
You can prevent followers from receiving a notice when you send a new rich post or WeChat article. However, this feature does not prevent blocked followers from going into your account and finding posts.
- Go to the Followers page.
- Locate the follower you want to block.
- Highlight the follower with the mouse pointer. The toolbar displays.
- Click the Block button.
- Select YES on the confirmation prompt.
8 Reading follower messages
You can access messages sent by a follower from the Followers page.
- Go to the Followers page.
- Highlight a follower with the mouse pointer. The toolbar displays.
- Click the Messages button. The Messages page opens.
- If the follower sent you a message, the Message History opens displays on the right side of the screen.
- If the follower has not sent a message, a red bar displays at the top of the screen with the text: Unable to find the follower's messages.
