1 Previewing pages
The Preview feature lets you see a website page before publishing. Access this feature with the Preview button inside the Edit Content area. In Preview mode, all the customisations you may have added (e.g. CSS and JavaScript) are visible. Page design and layout in Preview mode are the same as a live page.
Click PUBLISH on the top menu bar. A popup window displays. Click Website Content > Manage.
The Website Content page displays.
- Hover your mouse pointer on the page you want to preview.
- Click the Edit button.
Go to the top of the page. Click the Preview button. The page opens in a new tab.
In Preview mode, you see a single page, not the entire website. In addition, links to website pages or resources do not work. The benefit of Preview is inspecting page layout and design before publishing. Publish a single page, or the whole site, to test links.
2 Choosing preview display options
At the top of the Preview page, the Display Options panel shows you how the page displays on different devices. Click a button to change the page display.
3 Publishing a page
All web pages begin in Draft mode. You can modify and preview a draft page, but it is not visible to the general public. Publishing a single page makes it visible on the web. Visitors can see and interact with your text, images, video, and links.
To publish a single page:
- Go to the Website Content area.
- Hover the mouse pointer on a page. The More button displays.
- Click the More button. A menu displays.
- Click Publish.
Unpublishing a page
You can unpublish a page. Changing it back to Draft means it is not visible to the public.
- Go to the Website Content area.
- Hover the mouse pointer on a page. The More button displays.
- Click the More button. A menu displays.
- Click Unpublish. That page is now in Draft mode.
4 Publishing the site
You can publish all, or some, of your draft pages with the Publish button.
- Go to the Edit Content area of a page.
- Click the Publish button at the top of the page. A Confirmation panel displays a list of all web pages.
- Check the box beside each draft page you want to publish.
- Scroll down and click the Publish Selected button.
5 Tracking unpublished new content
You create new content on a published page and then click the Save button. That does not mean the new content is published. New content must be published to be visible.
There are two ways to identify published pages with unpublished content.
- look for the pencil icon
- check the Publish Confirmation panel
Looking for a pencil icon
Inside the Website Content area, a pencil icon displays beside published pages that have new, unpublished content. Published pages with no unpublished content have a blank space instead of a pencil icon. The pencil icon does not display for Draft pages with new content.
Check the Publish Confirmation panel
When you publish the entire site, a Confirmation panel opens. Go to the top of the panel to see the number of draft and published pages with unpublished content. Check the box in each heading to select all the pages.
- To publish the new content, leave the box checked.
- To prevent new content on that page from being published, uncheck the box.
While working on a site with multiple pages, it’s easy to forget the page name. The page name is not visible on the platform. At the top of the page, click the Settings button; it’s beside the green Content button. Look for Page Name at the top of the Settings page.
6 Viewing single published pages
You can view a single published page and test active links. Draft pages have a grey URL and don't have a page open link.
- Go to the Website Content area.
- Click the page URL below a page name or the nearby square page open icon.
- The page opens in a new tab.
