Page Audit is a unique optimisation tool. It analyzes a keyword plus the content on a specific page and the page's basic structure. Then the Page Audit tool produces a report with two pieces of information:
- an overall optimisation score
- a list of problems and solutions
If you think the report's suggestions are useful, go to the page you analysed and make the changes.
How to use the Page Audit tool
You can use the Page Audit tool in two ways.
- analyse keywords currently in your keyword list
- experiment with new keywords which are not currently in your keyword list
The Page Audit reporting system is the same for both options. The only difference is how you access the Page Audit page.
Each access option is described below along with a description of the Page Audit report structure.
1 Opening the Page Audit tool from Keywords page
Use this access method when you want to see the Page Audit report for a keyword currently in your keyword list.
- Open the Keywords data page and then customise the time period and search engine settings.
- Locate the keyword you want to review.
- On the right side of the table, click the Optimisation Score. The Page Audit page displays.
2 Opening the Page Audit tool directly
Use this access method when you want to go directly to the Page Audit page and analyse new keywords not currently tracked by the Sinorbis platform.
Opening the page
- Click WEBSITE on the top menu bar. The Website Content page displays.
- Locate the menu on the left side of the page.
- Click the OPTIMISE folder. The folder opens with three page links.
- Click Page Audit. The Page Audit page displays.
Analysing a new keyword
To generate a Page Audit report, you need to input two pieces of information: a keyword in Chinese script and a page URL.
- Enter a new keyword in Chinese script. If you type an English word, click the Chinese translator button. The Chinese word displays in the search box.
- Enter a page URL on your Sinorbis website. Include the http:// or https:// prefix.
- To locate a page URL, right-click the WEBSITE menu and open the page in a new tab. The Website Content page displays and lists all of your pages.
- On the Page Audit page, click ANALYSE. The Page Audit report displays on the page.
3 Reading Page Audit data
The Page Audit report has three sections of information.
1 Optimisation Score
The top of the report shows the keyword and optimisation score out of 100.
- If you are analysing a new word, a Track this Keyword button displays. Click this button to add the word to your keyword list.
- If you are analysing a keyword from the keyword list, a SEE RANKING PERFORMANCE button displays. Click this button to open the Keyword Analysis page.
2 Keyword Relevance table
The Page Audit report tells you if the selected keyword is relevant to the content on the selected page. Relevance is measured by four categories, as shown in the image below. Each category receives a colour-coded rating that ranges from No issue found to No data available.
In the image below, each category of keyword relevance is rated as Needs attention. The problem, if found, is described for each category.
3 Other Optimisations table
This table provides feedback on seven optimisation categories. As above, each category receives a rating that ranges from No issues found to No data available.
In the image below, six categories are rated as No issues found. One category was rated as Needs attention (Headlines & Text).
4 Making changes
To improve page optimisation for a keyword, go to the selected webpage and make the suggested changes. There is no direct link from the Page Audit page to the website content edit area, so the suggested process is as follows:
- Scroll up to the top of the Page Audit page and locate WEBSITE on the black menu.
- Right-click on WEBSITE and open the page in a new tab. The Website Content page displays
- Scroll down the Website Content page and locate the page you want to optimise.
- Hover the mouse pointer on the page you want to optimise. The Edit menu displays.
- Click Edit. The Edit Content page displays.
- Move back and forth between tabs so that you can see the suggested changes on the Page Audit page and then make the changes on the webpage.
- When all of the changes are complete, click Save and then Publish on the webpage.
