This article shows you how to view the geographic location of recent website visitors using the Real-time Map.
1 Real-time Map
The Real-time Map report is located under Visitors in the Reports section.
It provides a geographic view of recent website activity.
Reports > Visitors > Real-time Map
2 Refreshing or pausing the report
The Live indicator shows that the report is displaying real-time data.
The Updated time shows when the report was last refreshed.
Refresh
Select Refresh to manually update the visitor data displayed on the page.
Pause
Select Pause to temporarily stop the report from updating while you review the current information.
3 Reading the visitor summary
At the top of the page, two boxes provide a summary of recent website visits.
Visits in last 30 minutes
Shows the number of visits recorded during the previous 30 minutes.
Visits in last 24 hours
Shows the number of visits recorded during the previous 24 hours.
4 Using the Real-time Map
The Geolocated visits of the last 24 hours map shows where recent website visits were detected.
Locations with recorded visits are represented by markers on the map.
Hover over a marker to view additional information about the visit, including:
- Location – the detected city and country.
- Device / Browser – the device and browser used during the visit.
- Page – the page associated with the visit.
- Visit time – how long ago the visit occurred.
- Channel – how the visitor reached the website.
- Pageviews – the number of pages viewed during the visit.
