This article shows you how to view where your website visitors are located.
The Locations report allows you to review visitor data by Country, Continent, Region and City.
1 Locations
The Locations report is located under Visitors in the Reports section.
It provides geographic information about website visits.
Reports > Visitors > Locations
2 Selecting a date range
Use the Date range at the top of the page to select the period you want to review.
The location data displayed in the report updates based on the selected date range.
3 Country
Select Country to view visitor activity grouped by country.
The table displays:
- Name – the detected country.
- Visits – the number of visits from that country.
- % of Visits – the percentage of total visits represented by that country.
- Actions – the number of tracked visitor actions recorded during those visits.
- Actions per Visit – the average number of tracked actions recorded per visit.
- Avg. Time on Website – the average amount of time visitors from that country spent on the website.
- Bounce Rate – the percentage of visits from that country that viewed only one page.
% of Visits = Visits for the country ÷ Total visits
Actions per Visit = Actions ÷ Visits
Tracked actions can include page views, site searches, outlink clicks and downloads.
4 Continent
Select Continent to view visitor activity grouped by continent.
The chart and table display the same visitor metrics as the Country view, grouped at continent level.
The remaining visitor metrics are the same as the Country view.
5 Region
Select Region to view visitor activity by detected region, state, province or similar geographic subdivision.
The Country column identifies the country associated with each region.
The remaining visitor metrics are the same as the Country view.
6 City
Select City to view visitor activity at city level.
The report also displays the associated Region and Country for each detected city.
The remaining visitor metrics are the same as the Country view.
