This article shows you how to view current and recent visitor activity on your website using the Real-time report.

1 Real-time Visitors

The Real-time report is located under Visitors in the Reports section.

It provides an overview of current and recent visitor activity on your website.

Reports > Visitors > Real-time

The Live indicator shows that the report is displaying real-time visitor data.

The Updated time shows when the information was last refreshed.

Select Refresh to manually update the information displayed on the page.

Select Pause to temporarily stop the real-time display from updating while you review the current data.

At the top of the page, two summary boxes provide an overview of recent website activity.

Shows the number of visits recorded during the previous 30 minutes.

The number underneath shows the number of actions recorded during those visits.

Shows the number of visits recorded during the previous 24 hours.

The number underneath shows the number of actions recorded during that period.

An action is a tracked visitor activity, such as a page view, site search, outlink click or download.

The Recent Visitors table provides visit-level information about recent website activity.

The table displays:

Location – the visitor's detected geographic location.
Date – the date and time of the visit.
Actions – the number of tracked actions recorded during the visit.
Duration – the amount of time recorded for the visit.
Device / Browser – the detected device type and browser used during the visit.
Channel – the acquisition channel associated with the visit.
Type – identifies the visitor type, such as a new or returning visitor.

A new visitor has no previously recorded visit. A returning visitor has at least one previously recorded visit.
